Our Coaches

Tahlia (Tay-ray)

Tahlia initially started CrossFit about 6 years ago and fell in love with it instantly! After many years of training and competing in the sport, Tahlia decided to join our coaching team. Tahlia's favourite thing about coaching is seeing people achieve goals they thought was never possible. Most people start at Hillside just wanting to lose some weight or gain some muscle tone, then 6months later they end are trying to get their first pull-up or climb up a rope.

It’s so rewarding for Tahlia to see people push themselves to that next level each week. Did we mention she is also a mother of one? She safely trained throughout her whole pregnancy and bounced back better than ever. She knows how important it is to stay fit and healthy (even with a busy household) and now as a CrossFit coach she loves helping other women live that healthier lifestyle too.

Ebony (Ej)

EJ has been coaching in the Crossfit industry for almost 3 years now and participating in the sport for 11 years. Crossfit has always been a massive part of her life and she now shares it with our Hillside kids and teens. She believes it's important for the younger generation to learn the fundamentals of movement and how to stay healthy in a fun way. EJ is at Hillside most afternoons for the 5 and 6pm crew and every Saturday for partner throwdowns!

Jamie (Jamo)

I have been a massive fan of CrossFit since one rainy Saturday afternoon about 7 or 8 years ago, when the CrossFit games came on ESPN, I instantly thought 'what the heck is this' and fell in love with it straight away. I came to Hillside for our son to train as he was racing junior motocross and needed to do something for his fitness about a month after they opened their doors.

I met Brad and we hit it off from day 1, and I have not looked back since. Hillside has given me so much in my life, and now with a change of lifestyle and career, I have been given a chance to help and encourage others to make life long changes in their lives too. I have been the social media guy for the gym for a few years now and always try to keep members notified of up coming competitions and keep the gym banter in full swing. Recently I completed my CrossFit Level 1 Training course and I am excited to join the amazing team of coaches at Hillside and help where I can while learning and gaining knowledge from them along the way.

Angelo (Ang)

Angelo has been involved in the fitness and CrossFit industry for over 10 years and has specialised in CrossFit for the past 7 years. After completing his Level 1 & Level 2 CrossFit Trainer certification, Angelo developed a passion for helping other people achieve their fitness goals, helping to mentor and develop their skills. Angelo specialises in the modification and adjustments of movements to suit individual needs especially those with injuries.

Angelo always brings a smile and a laugh to his classes and makes fitness fun while ensuring that your movements are performed to the highest standard.


Brad is the creator and owner of Hillside CrossFit, Hillside Health and The Cardio Room. He has a sole focus on making fitness inclusive for everyone. His 13 years in the fitness industry has lead him on his path to create and environment which allows for everyone no matter what to do Fitness. Brad has a keen interest in Mountain biking, Dirt biking and training Crossfit himself.

He is always looking to push his limits in everything he does and he loves the environment that he has created for others to do the same!

Emma (Nutrition Coach)

Emma Darcy is the owner of Hillside CrossFit. Brad and Emma opened up HillSide CrossFit in 2013. Emma has loved fitness and health since the age of 18. She has had many roles at Hillside as well as raising their three boys she started our Kids and Teens program but is now our in house nutrition coach. Emma believes in balance when it comes to health, fitness and food.

She has a soft approach when it comes to nutrition coaching and helps members set reasonable goals when it comes to their health and fitness. Emma truly believes that through small changes you can make a big difference to your health and well-being. She believes in consistency and building healthy habits that you can stick to throughout your lifetime.
